  • Yellow eggs in compost

I have found that my miracle Gro compost has these small (Approx 3mm diameter and smaller) yellow round egg type things all the way through it. Do you know what they are? Are they harmful? I can't find them in my books.

They are most likely some kind of fertilizer.
Is it a newly opened bag?

If you find them in a freshly opened bag of compost with added fertilizer, then no, they should definitely not be slug eggs! They are slow release fertilizer capsules.
If you find them when digging in the ground, a small bunch of whitish clear tiny round balls, then they are probably slug or snail eggs. Squish away!

I've been trawling the net trying to find photos of earthworm eggs. Here's one, but I don't know who to credit

The white eggs on the left are slug/snail eggs.
The yellow eggs are worm eggs.

Thank you for this. These are singly throughout the bag and much more yellow. So I think it must be the fertilizer thing. I didn't know about it before.
