I thought that I was in for a good crop of pears this year as my pear tree was covered in flowers and most of them have began to form tiny pears.Yesterday I noticed that a few of them had turned black and so I removed them.I also notice that a few of the leaves on the tree have small black patches on them. Can anyone tell me what this is and how if possible, it can be treated.

Not sure what it is but sounds like the problem our neighbours pear tree has. Loads of flowers, loads of small fruit which then turn black and die, dropping all over my veg patch
I shall watch this thread with interest as he is also completely nonplussed as to why this happens. Apparently it used to be a great cropper too
