Cabbage Root Fly? !!!!

Hi, i just went to check my plot and saw that three of my cabbages , which were otherwise the best looking thing on my plot, have began to go yellow, so i pulled one up and there was hardly any root but lots of white little maggots, i thought they were new roots until they wriggled!!!
If my plot neighbours had not been around i would have thrown a tantrum because they were doing so well, and were netted.
How can i get rid of the grubs before they spread to the others?
Please dont tell me to pull them all up or i will possibly cry!!

oh no, I am so sorry . All mines were looking good until last week, execepting one that wasn't growing at the same pace and had 1 yellow leaf...I have going to look at it carefully this weekend. I hope urs recover hypnophil!

Thanks Reks, hope yours are ok!
I will try and pull up the affected ones and the row next to them to hopefully stop it spreading. i had more to go in there aswell!!!

did you not put collars round your cabbages when you planted them out?

No, i didnt put collars on them,just netted the bed!!
Pulled them up today, my broccoli and turnip are affected too.
