  • Bugs and worms in the post

Yippee! I got some rove beetles and some nematodes in the post today to combat my fungus fly and hopefully aphids too.

I poured 6 million nematodes into various pots and in the raised bed (cos why not, ran out of pots to treat) in the garden, concentrating on my strawberry planter where I have lost 4 plants so far, with one or two more looking very poorly.

The rove beetles should also eat the fungus fly larvae, aphids (which also plague my strawbs and roses), slug eggs, thrips (whatever they are) and other wee pesties. Hooray!

I do hope it all works..will report back on my findings. Hopefully with news of the demise of the evil fungus flies!
