  • Gooseberry pest problem

Hi, one of my gooseberry bushes has what looks this clusters of tiny green eggs laid on some leaves, these leaves are curled in around the eggs.

any thoughts on what this might be and how I could treat it please?

Sounds like greenfly to me, like starloc said squish them.
I had them on some of the new growing tips on my currants but as they are mature bushes I snip the growing tips off and burned them.
If you dont get rid then they will spread to other plants around the garden.

If you can see it is definitely eggs then it is probably from the gooseberry sawfly and definitely need to be squished as they can completely decimate the foliage of gooseberries. Unfortunately I don't know what colour their eggs are.

If it is gooseberry sawfly, chuck a handful of peanuts under the bush. The peanuts will attract the birds, they will find the grubs. Problem solved.
