  • Ground Elder

The cottage next door to ours had a huge, out of control hedge that by mutual agreement I tamed the other night along with a man and a chainsaw. Three hours later it was looking much better but the Ground Elder that's growing underneath and around the hedge is creeping through to our garden and looks a right old mess.

What would be the best method of killing it off? We have nothing growing where it's creeping in - just a long gravel path.

Paint it with glysophate ( can never remember how to spell the darned stuff!!!)...several times over the next 3 weeks. It does work- but watch out for it coming into contact with anything else you want to keep!!

..just re-read your post!...nah- it won't kill off your gravel!!!

Or let it flower and use them for flower arrangements. They have really attractive while umbels of flower - fantastic contrast to all the solid colours of your posh cut flowers.

Roundup super concentrated will kill ground elder (tree stump and root killer)
        It costs about £10

        It killed all mine
