"A war on slugs" - You will find that it is like wars against Afghanistan in that they never end. I find I can just slaughter the present army, but the reinforcements replace them very quickly. It always gives me a walk round the garden in the dark, that I wouldn't do otherwise and would happily give up if the slugs did likewise.
