  • Seriously unhappy Rat

This morning I discovered that due to the good intentions of a coule of guys at the posh walled garden hotel, volunteering to spray off the weeds on the paths in the garden, I am now missing 150m of assorted beetroot, 100m Paris Market carrots and 50m Ishiwotsit scallions.
Both chef and I are not happy bunnies tonight !

          Oh dear! That's annoying!

Chin-up! I'm sure the rest will be just fab! Hopefully you've got more seedlings to put in their place

Jings Rat, that's terrible. I'm sure they were well intentioned - eh well - novices.
That's the problem with weedkiller, it can drift onto other things - and in the wrong hands - well.
Hope you can get something else up and running soon but what a disappointment.

Ah cr@p sr, that's harsh. Hope you get something sorted soon mate. I know I am mortified if I kill one or two plants due to neglect or a mishap - let alone metres and metres of the stuff.

God thats a shocker for you. I was mightily peed off last year when my runner beans mysteriously died after allotmenting neighbour sprayed his weeds.
Are some heads gonna get banged together?

I had that happen to all my carrots last year Rat, tis mightily annoying, and it was my own bl**dy OH that did it He's banned from using the sprayer anymore, any weed killing has to be done with a watering can, much less chance of drift.
Hope sowing replacements doesn't set you back too much (could you make the spraying numpties do it?)

.... it should be the least they do for you.

I know what I'd like to do with them if I was in your shoes, but I suppose it was an accident.

You're taking it very calmly....beetroot can grow back quick but carrots and scallions - flippin heck they can take months to get going again.

I agree - they need involving in making restitution. No use to you really as the crops will be so much later - but it might make you feel a bit better!
