Feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle keeping on top of them.

Surely this also means bumper ladybird year as well? Have found several Ladybird larvae in the garden, so hoping they will sort the blighters out.

I'm having trouble squashing all the greenflies on my plants too, they got quite bad on the plants I was starting off in the kitchen but I've moved most of them outdoors now. Haven't seen any ladybirds at all in my garden & the bluetitis are even struggling to eat all the greenflies on the roses etc. so I think we all must be having a plague of them this year. A good squirt with a hosepipe gets rid of the ones on plants outside but a day or two later more have appeared!
Into every life a little rain must fall.

I now have some very fat spiders and very laden spider webs

I have become the protector of the spider as they are doing a better job than me... I love cobwebs now

        still lots of greenfly though

I've a clematis by the front door that was covered in blackfly. For the past couple of weeks I was squashing loads every time I came in and out. Then yesterday morning I found a few ladybirds and ladybird larvea on the plant. I squished a few, but had to rush off for my train. When I got back in they'd pretty much all gone. Good old ladybird family

Now they can get to work on the greenfly on my sweet peas, please
