success against slugs

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but would like to say, I swear by copper tape - it's so fab! Absolutely no Webbs Wonderful after successional sowing earlier this year until I put the tape around all my pots & raised beds, I've being harvesting ever since! (Only problem is, the little blighters can get onto my beds off surrounding trees/plants!
Also, on the subject of coffee grounds, Starbucks give their used stuff away if you ask (others might too), and it's also good for your compost bin.

Slugs and bran or oats

My better half gets a realy cheap deal on porridge oats which i used around early salad this year was realy successful until it rains then gets a little sloppy but it digs in and i renew.
My 11 year old daughter thinks maybe the slugs eat to much and then explode as it swells (scary thought)
Mind you this is the daughter that tells me that if you feel epson salts to pidgeons they explode cos they cant fart --what do they teach kids at school
