harvest mites

Yet again my poor cat is being munched by harvest mites and scratching like crazy.
I have been giving him antihistamine but what else can I do???
Last year the vet gave him a course of steroids which I'm not happy doing again as it only lasted a couple of weeks before he started scratching again.

I thought Frontline combi would have stopped him from being munched????

What do other peeps do????

I don't really want to resort to keeping him indoors as he' kept inside most of the winter because of the hunters

Has no-one had probs with these with their cats/dogs???

I'd never even heard of them in Cheshire- perhaps they are a southern UK thing/Europe??????

One of my friends over here says she's always nibbled and covered in 'blisters/bumps' on her hands and feet every year- and boy do they itch!
