carrot fly

Hi all, as a newbie to this game can someone please advise me about the carrot fly.I sowed some Kingston today and have been told i need to screen the young plants to stop the carrot fly from getting to them.Is it a case that you only need protect them when there seedlings or do they need protecting at all stages :confused

They need covering from start to end.......enviromesh or fine net curtains seem to be popular.
