  • Whitefly Under Enviromesh

Hi All...I've got lovely kale and cavalo nero growing under enviromesh but also not so lovely whitefly are starting to really infest the plants. I have had to cut two CN plants down already

Should I remove the enviromesh now the cabbage white have gone?

Does the soapy water trick work on whitefly?

    Thanks

Soapy water is perfect for whitefly!
I keep my brassicas under mesh all winter- partly because my plants are under trees and the birdies like to drop pressies...and also ....sometimes the birds ( pigeons esp ) will come and have a quick snack on them!

I've taken the Enviromesh off mine now, mainly to give the plants room to grow. There's no problems with pigeons on my plot though, due to the rooks nesting in the tree next door. To be honest, I've never got rid of plants because of whitefly anyway, just give them an extra good scrub before cooking...

I'll give the soapy water a go...the two deceased (for now) plants were so infested I could barely see any green stem!!! Yeugh
