Fungii in the greenhouse!

Hi Guys n Gals!

We spotted some fungii (no, not Lee Evans, nor John Cleese!) growing in our greenhouse yesterday when we were sorting it out, and I just wondered if anyone could offer any advice as to what it was, whether it is something to be worried about and if so what we need to do to get rid of it! Its in the northern bed inbside the greenhouse, about 6" from the northern glazed wall, and seems to be where we've had rain dripping in (after the roof glazing 'slipped' in the high winds a week or two ago!)

We've now redone the greenhouse roof, using more clips, so hopefully that should stop any more wetness entering, but we are not sure what to do about the fungii!

Is it poisonous? Is it something that could be harmful to our plants? Is it something that will prevent us from planting in that bed this year? Is it something we dont need to worry about? Is it something we need to clear, and if so, how?

Any hints, tips, info, etc would be most appreciated!

They look like Orange Peel fungus to me. Anything that looks like that is poisionus. They grow on humus so your bed must be full of it. They can reach 10cm across but are usually 3 - 4 cm.

Nothing to worry about they won't harm your crops but it may be as well to remove them to stop the spores spreading.

Anyway the pixies use them as baths when they are not sitting on their toadstools/mushrooms

This is a Peziza probably Peziza repanda, totally harmless as it feeds only on rotting wood or compost. I often see them beside compost heaps.

They are only the fruiting bodies and as Alice says just hoe them off.
