polystyrene

Tend to put polystryrene in the bottom of my pots etc. Just wondering if this is ok to keep reusing or will I introduce disease? Not sure if this should go here or not? Thought about cleaning it when I cleaned my pots, but tended to break up! Any ideas? Thanks x

I re-use my polystyrene in the bottom of pots. After all you don't wash the crocks that are in the bottom of pots.......or do you?

Phew thats good news. someone told me I should only use for a season, but that seems such a waste and don't wanna send it to landfill! And no I don't wash my crocks either! Try not to use crocks so much, the weight knacks my back if I have to move them!
Not sure about the new piccy BM, have you been working out?

I use broken up polystyrene as crocks/drainage. Just rinse the old compost off in a bucket of water and drain. Polystyrene is inert, so as long as it's washed shouldn't cause any problems. (Also helps keep the compost warm)
