My plants have been nibbled too - they look pretty but I'm sure its the bean we'evil' too - I gave them a shake at the weekend but didn't see anything fall off BUT I did notice that the ants were gathering in anticipation of the blackfly harvest....I didn't realise this last year and thought the ants were doing me a favour until I read up on here about their habits.....needless to say, they will get a squirt with the washing up liquid wand (can't find horticultral soap) at some point!
