  • tiny red caterpillars on apple

Ive just been having a check over of all the trees, most have a few aphids, im just ignoring them, the apricots have some new shoots, i squished the aphids on them,

then i noticed the bramley has quite a few bright yellow leaves right next to the golden delcious, looking closer the bramleys yellow leves have red/grey aphids in tightly packed clusters, nothing more than the aphids that i can see

the golden delicious (touching the bramley) has the same red/grey aphids but...., around them on one leaf theres what i presume is hoverfly larvae (about half inch long, kind of grey looking with a few stripes running allong it), its eating the aphids so it seems fine to leave it, then on another few leaves there were about 20 per leaf of tiny red ( very bright almost neon red ) caterpillars, about 2mm long and less than 1mm wide they seem to move quite quick as well , seemed to be surrounding the aphids

does anyone know... what are the red ones? tiny young hoverfly larvae?, or mini ladybird larvae? , or what?

are they good or bad on the plant, ive never seen them before

No photo though as ive broken the camera again
Living off grid and growing my own food in Bulgaria.....
