what are these

can any one tell what these are, I dug them up from my allotment, the biggest one has similar colourings to a turnip, white and purple.

sorry cant post pictures...

they are 2 inch bulb looking things, white, with purplish ends. On the opposite end they look corrugated like celery is.

Sorry misread the post (certainly not an opium poppy) they could be wild garlic a picture would help.
