rats in the polytunnel

Ok, it's not my polytunnel, but I am growing stuff in there, and there is at least one rat in there, it's sampling almost every cherry tomato, just the one bite [probably in case it tastes different to the one next to it], it's sampled the chillis, ate half the beetroot, and it's started on the cucumbers.

Best and fastest and most humane way to kill it anyone?

One of those cheap snap traps - they work a treat. Use something tasty on it, chocolate, peanut butter or dog food seems to work for me.
