  • Avocado plant disease - Fungus?

    Hi there,

I've been growing this avocado tree/plant for 3 years now and all was well until recently.

This summer, it started growing what looks like fungus which has rotted one of the stalks and most of the leaves.

I am attaching images and would love your opinions and help.

    Thanks!

Does it look anything like this close-up?

    Algal spot (Cephaleuros virescens)

      Hi OllieMartin,

I'm afraid not. The newer "spots" could be rubbed off with water but not all. Have cut the rotten stalk off, in the hope that the second stalk can be saved. Surprisingly, new baby shoots are still trying to grow.

      Thanks for your help, OllieMartin.

        avocado fungus

My avocado plant has a similar problem to the one in the picture (the dark spots) but also has developed a white powdery look on several of the leaves - seems to be spreading and killing the leaves. The stem looks ok and it appears otherwise healthy. What do i do?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
