  • Courgettes...

Hi ya - This is the 1st year I've really grown anything properly and already I've got a good crop of courgettes and french beans going but the leaves on my courgettes are getting like a white powder over them. I've hunted the web and can't find anything to explaine why or what it is - just wondering if anyone on here can give me any advice. Cheers

It's powdery mildew Beatnix. Poor air circulation encourages mildew and so do dry conditions, so watering well and moving them so they're less crowded might help. It's quite common for these plants to get mildew and if it's not bad then they'll still fruit (although probably not as well), they might just be tired and could do with a good feed. If the leaves are really bad cut them off...but don't make ya plant bold...it really won't like it .

Thanks for that - I'm still getting loads of courgettes, some with flowers some without but I was worried I may have to get rid of all of them. Panic over - for now -lol!
