  • Oh dear. Harlequins in Harlington?

Not sure if it's because I keep an eye out for them as they're hugely beneficial bugs to have, but I have seemingly noticed quite a few ladybirds this year, and can usually spot them at a distance.

Playing with Bean on his climbing frame this evening and I spotted this fellow (attached) sat atop one of the uprights on the slide bit.

I've submitted my 'finding' on the Harlequin Ladybird survey website.

    I'm hoping I'm wrong...

Second photo is just before he legged it out of the window.

I've seen tonnes of 'normal' ladybirds (as mentioned in my original post), but this is the first Harlequin I've seen.
