  • Rock salt.

Hi all,...my first post so please bear with me
A neighbour of mine was sprinkling rock sallt on newly dug soil, I asked why!
He said '' It help's to get rid of slug larvae & soil bound nasties''
Is he right?..I hope so because he gave me 25kg bag

Salt will also kill all the plants "Salt – It was once a known war tactic to salt the fields of enemies. Salting the earth was also used as punishment for severe crimes in several countries throughout history. The reason is because salt will kill plants and will make the ground unsuitable for future plant growth. " Flummery told me that

Slugs don't have larvae, they have eggs.

        Don't give it back!!

Keep it for when the snow and ice come and you can put it down on your driveway/paths etc

Save it for getting rid of Daisies, Plantain and Dandelions from your Lawn! Unless you don't mind them, then save it, as OWG said, for clearing your paths in the winter.

Oh, yeah, and welcome to the Madhouse, from me too!

                Thank's for the reply all.
I was a little dubious, because if you kill the nasties, you kill the goodies.

So how are his crops, this "friendly" neighbour of yours?
