  • Bright orange lumpy things on branches?

I noticed a branch of one of my trees has bright orange lumpy things on them.

I touched one of them; about the size of a match head & squashy. When I looked closer I noticed there was more of this stuff on nearby branches, an old fence and even the wood on my horse trailer. Any idea as to what it may be.

I made sure I touched nothing else and washed my hands thoroughly as somthing tell me its not nice.

Could you by any chance pop a photo on here so we can have a look at your "Orange lumps" please.
It sounds a little like a fungus, does it look something like this photo?

If it does it could be "Sulfur Shelf (Laetiporus sulphureus)", also known as "Chicken of the Woods" because it is an edible mushroom that some people think tastes like chicken.
I wouldn't eat it myself because I'm not confident enough to say it wouldn't poison mi

Cheers Snadger, looking at the photos I think its definateley coral spot, the orange bits look the same although mine are only sparsly dotted.

I'll have to get some *****, how on earth I 'prune' the wood off the horse trailer I don't know!
