NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The flower heads still go to seed even when removed. They're tenacious chuffs them dandelions. We put a load in our weed bin today. Hopefully they'll drown/rot before I add them to the compost in a few weeks.
I agree with Shadylane rot them in water before adding to the compost bin, the liquid when diluted to the colour of weak tea makes a good feed for your tomatoes so don't tip that in the compost. That way you get the goodness back that they stole from your plot in the first place.
what can I do with the roots? Quite thick long orange beasts.
They survive in water for a long time: I've tried drowning them, but they resist! Now I roast them on a hot path for a few days until crispy, then chuck on compost heap
