  • Black Aphids On Apple Tree.

I was wondering what was causing my apple tree's new leaves to curl, when I've just had a look it's black aphid . I've also noticed some little green caterpillars, think they could be sawfly...I'm soooo not impressed. So with long nosed tweezers in hand I've removed 9 little caterpillars and took great pleasure in squishing them . I've also squished all the aphids I could see. I had lot's of ladybirds in the garden but they seem to have moved on . Looks like the invasion of bugs has began.

Has anyone else noticed the invasion??

Oh noooo - not your little apple tree! I haven't noticed anything on mine yet - but it is only a matter of time I am sure.
Then I shall take FBs advice to Snadger

The bits about blasting with a hose (I'll have to use a sprayer as there is no hosepipe on the lottie) and the meths if I find woolly aphis.

Watch out for the broad beans - they will get it next unless you stay on top of it!
