Right, I know this is an age old question, pertaining to weeds but I'm dumbfounded and I can imagine you guys can lend me a hand, or at least confirm my suffering as uniform amongst all gardeners.
I've watched numerous gardening shows, but for the point I'm trying to convey, I'll take Monty Dom's garden - how is it so weed free?
I mean, his garden (if you can call it that) is simply immaculate - does he simply spend 9am-5pm weeding? Is it his job to work in his own garden? He appears to use no mulch on his vegetable patch, and it's purely mud/compost, no unwanted weeds!
Forgive me, it's just, I simply cannot rid my garden of weeds. I literally dug up 18-22 inches of soil when I removed my tomato's, examined every part of it removing seedlings, suspicious roots and everything else - a total purge of life (or so I was convinced). Two weeks later, and boom - I've got weeds sprouting up once again.
Hopefully it wont be too much of an issue as my green manure is quickly catching up (and don't worry, I'm not thinking the green manure is the weeds) and shall hopefully kill it off.. but it seems whenever the ground is left for a simple week or two, nature steps in to ensure another days weeding.
Help me Grapes, you're my only hope.
