Could anyone please tell me how i can deter squirrels from digging up my bulbs that i have planted. Thanks

Wire mesh works for me otherwise they dig them up quicker than I can plant them! Main problem at the moment is next door's new cat - has pulled rank on ours and is cr&pping in the raised bed all the time, had trained ours out of it with the hose pipe so will have to start covering it again - have just lost a load of young pea plants and am not happy.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Squirrels just dig up bulbs Maxine. You could cover them over with chicken wire or shoot the squirrels - but you'll just get more. Pesky little bandits !

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

A colleague was telling me a story recently about her father. He had a squirrel who visited him all the time, so tame it used to come in the house and sit on the sofa ( the fleas ). When her children visited him he would give them nuts which they would put in their belly buttons and the squirrel would come and eat them.

Thank you all for your help, i am amazed watching them, how they even know where the bulbs are, in one way i find them a delight to watch, in other ways i know they can cause havoc, but i guess it is their habitat.

              Rats with a good PR!

Horrible things - but what fun to watch!

Got one hanging by his toenails nicking seed from the bird feeder - a great sight.

It's still a rat with a fluffy tail though.
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!
