  • What's been eating this then?

Had one chilli that almost overnight went from perfect to full of holes.
I found caterpillers on it, so brought it in and took them off, keeping a close eye for a few days. There was new growth at the top that was untouched and all seemed fine, so it went back into the greenhouse yesterday.......today the new growth is being eaten too

I've also seen similar on one leaf of a neighbouring plant
    Here's some pics. Any ideas?
I did find these red blobs, and googling it looks like the sort of damage that red spider mite can do

Look underneath the leaves. You will probably find a tiny green parachuting caterpillar. The only way I managed to get rid of these last year was to use an organic spray. Otherwise they also eat into the chillis themselves and you lose the lot.

I've tried, but there's no more sign of them, the wee buggers.
      What spray did you use?

That's because they parachute down as soon as you look. You have to look very very carefully.

I used this - but only on the peppers/chillis and only twice. Got rid of them though. Little *******s

You'll have to keep on top of the greenfly, don't expect one spray to do them in

And keep looking for the pillarcats, you'll spot them better when they're bigger
