An ex-rat, splayed out on the back lawn. But without its head. Over the years we have found a couple of dead sqirrells, the remains of the odd bird but usually just the feathers and even a dead fox in the next door neighbours garden but a headless rat? It wasn't a particularly big rat - we have a brook running alongside our house so lots of rats there but touch wood we have never been invaded. Would the average moggy bite off the head of a rat? And the carrion crows roundabout didn't seem interested in it. Curiouser and curiouser.

Haha, yes we have the innards here. The cat will bring in a mouse, or a rabbit. Dispose of the body usually, then lays out the stomach, the gut, and sometimes another internal organ, and maybe the head as well. It's rather like a grisly anatomy lesson for the first person up round here.Ali

One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French
