  • Whats eating my leaves ?

    Evening all,
I have a couple of Olive trees that appear healthy and are growing ok - but appear to have something nibbling the leaves. I also have a bay tree that has seen better days - it grows ok but then seems to get knocked back by the same thing thats nibbling the olives. The pics below show the state of the leaves on both. I have also recently planted a couple of apple trees nearby, and dont want them to suffer the same fate. Any ideas how I should go about solving this issue ? Could these be the result of ants - Ive had similar presentation on blueberry bushes nearby that were infested with ant in the pot. I gave up on those - but dont want to here!

looks like vine weevil to me. The munching round the edges is a classic sign. This is a pic I found doing a google search. http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.46067...88198&pid=15.1

Yes - that looks right. Is treatment at this time of the year effective?

Bay really, really doesn't like the wind. Is yours in a very sheltered spot?
