Nah matey, you got that wrong the manufacturers stopped that claim years ago when their own research found that when it got into contact with the soil it locked the mineral in,thus effectively causing the need for added fertilizer.

Santa is also a myth. My mother told me lies...I've only just found out that the tooth fairy isn't real either...I'm still trying to get over it (emoticon with tears)

I dont beleive everything i red, although when you read more and more of the same thing, you do tend to start to take notice.

I think we now agree - How much? , originally you said crops dont get sprayed, now your saying they do... so we're on the same level! *high 5!!

..maybe its Hitler writing those reports on Glyphosate, I though he was dead, like John Cleese's parrot(t). But perhaps he's just been innactive, and not gone forever!?

Depends what side of the glyphosate argument you are on matey, I'm keeping relatively quiet on the subject also for all the right reasons

Being one of the safest herbicides out there does not make it safe.

However there is of course the issue that if not glyphosate, then what? I once heard (i.e. I have no real idea if it's true) that there are too many people to feed for the world to go organic, but if it isn't true, with population growth as it is it will be eventually. Unless we invent replicators first.

                  *partial backup*

I have never used it knowingly but I would not rule out using it if I had an issue that digging, smothering, swearing at and threatening to call its mother wasn't fixing. But I would not like to rely on it, nor to treat it cavalierly. Similar to my approach to de-fleaing my cats really - a relaxed approach, treating when there is a problem or high risk of a problem (start of summer), but otherwise not treating - the less chemicals involved to keep on top of any situation the better, but sometimes there is no real alternative.

I am a user but I still have an open mind on this. I'm still reading through the web page I posted the link to above. I'm very reassure by much of what I read. The summary at the start of this thread refers to concentrations in urine being greater than that approved for drinking water. I'm thankful that I don't drink urine but the main point is that Glyphosate is excreted by the human body in three ways.

                    1. by conversion to carbon dioxide and breathed out
                    2. By excretion in urine
                    3. By excretion in Faeces.

Importantly , in cases where people have tried to commit suicide by ingesting glyphosate, their bodies have been completely free of glyphosate within a matter of hours.

That should reassure the reasonable among us

                      • Two human patients who were poisoned with glyphosate had peak plasma glyphosate concentrations within 4 hours of
ingestion. After 12 hours, glyphosate was almost undetectable.

AP my friend I get away easily on the use thereof. Yes I do use it but only on weeds that grow between the paving slabs. Using any kind of weed killer on my food plants is not necessary as they are all grown in containers and this makes that side of life easy.

I was more refering to someones attitude which I found objectionable.
