When I had my bedrooms fitted, there was a large door too many. This was new and wrapped in a polly bag so I put it down the garden next to a cold frame for use later in the garden.
Every morning I go down with a pair of scissors and cut about 20 slugs in half that are climbing all over it.
    cheers me up no end.

151 tonight. Gits have levelled one of only six peppers that made it as far as the garden this year.

I caught a few tonight too. They have a penchant for dog poo and I was clearing it off the grass. If ever you want to set a trap for slugs, use poo bait

15 tonight. Warmish and raining out.

Can't bring myself to use scissors on them. They get re-homed into the big field around the corner... or into my neighbours garden. Depends on if there have been any late loud parties or not that keep me awake.

The dog was barking at a huge slug on the kitchen floor last night. Then I spotted the slug trail on her back The slug must have jumped her in the garden and hitched a ride indoors. Cunning so-and-sos

I used to find a trail in my old house (yeeeears ago) coming from the back door, through the kitchen, into the dining room then back out again.

One night the trail just ended under the table. About 8" away was a little pile of cat sick with a chewed up slug... eeeeuuuuuw

319 Tonight. There are always loads eating up the remains of their fallen comrades. Yuk. I jump on snails as the shells fill up the Salty Slug Pot of Death too quickly.

119 last night - a dry night for once.
But I lost my only two Golden Hubbard seedlings which were on a table with spikey fine mesh wrapped around the legs. How did three slugs and two snails get up there? Although, having watched the cats chasing each other straight over the table ...

Hope you were not kind to them, chefgage.

49 last night, torrents of rain (20mm in 24 hours) although it was touch and go between the slugs getting all my tender stuff or the forecast drop in temperature to 5 degrees last night. Plucky aubergines!

I will be taking firm action from tomorrow, the radishes are rapidly disappearing and the potato foliage is being nibbled.

Think I will get my little helper in on the action with his bucket and if we catch enough I will try my own nematode brew.

don`t you find this way a bit noisy, or do they just sit around drinking, rather than partying?

I covered an area of my garden with seaweed (unwashed)then planted my cabbage, sprouts etc. through this and so far have not had any slug problems, I also have a good number of birds coming to a feeder, which I think also helps.
