Spiders in greenhouse by the 100!!

I don't mind the odd spider in the greenhouse but I've had a sack of 100s of the little buggers hatch out!!

You know the black and yellow ones, I just call them garden spiders (not sure what they're called).

What do I do, I don't want them taking over the place so how do I deal with them? Can I spray them with something that won't be harmful to my crops etc?

If you don't want to kill them you could try a turkey baster type thing and suck them up with it. Then let them go outside, well away from the gh.

Open the window whenever the weather is fine, and the door, let them find their own way out, just think of all those insects they are going to eat while growing up. And you want to spray them - WHY ?????????

They're only teeny little spiders - they won't hurt you. Live and let live - definitely don't use any sprays in your greenhouse - you'll be in there breathing it in

I let a load go this morning (loads more hatched out since) and my mrs done her nut coz now they'll be in the garden :roll: she has a right phobia of them. I'm not worried by them, I just don't want that many! Lol

Don't worry Sterny they won't all grow into adults. Spiders have hundreds of babies because most of them get eaten by birds.

I remember when the kids were little and they found a spider's nest in the hallway above the door. I wasn't allowed to touch it and they inspected daily until they hatched.

Think of all the protein. And rising food prices. Eat a spider and save money.. Eat a hundred and save more....

Went in gh this morning, and luckily they'd all clumped back together so I managed to get pretty much all of them into a pot and redistributed them up near my compost heap under a load of trees

Blimey! No wonder they grow so big!! Had 1 in my garden last year and I'm sure he had tattoos!!

Spiders, as I constantly tell the kids at school, are our friends. If we didn't have spiders, we would all be covered in flies, there's be flies round our faces, round our food, in our houses... Now what would your missus rather have in your house, flies or the odd spidey?

If you don't want to destroy them you could try a poultry baster kind factor and pull them up with it. Then let them go outside, well away from the gh.
