There is a quite a lot of chickweed on my potato, amaranth and allium beds. Clearing the potato beds was no problem, jut hoed round the obviouis potato leaves
On the seed-sown-direct part of my allium, amaranth beds and the lettuce bed it's not quite so clear cut, I can't make out the seedlings from the chickweed. I spent a couple of hours trying to find seedlings, picking the chickweed in the immediate surrounding area then pulling the remaining parts between seedlings and then rows. I must have pulled a few seedlings, it took ages and I only got a few square metres done.
Long term management aside.
Is it best to wait until the seedlings are more established by which time the chickweed may choke them or pull the chickweed asap and risk pulling more seedlings?
