  • Yellow patches on soil

    Hi guys I'm new to all this vegetable growing malarkey so here is my first question of many to come please could anyone shed any light on what these yellow patches on the soil of my tomato plant . Many thanks

    Looks like a mould of some sort. What sort of compost is it growing in? Is the compost very wet? I think I'd scrape it off the surfaces and bin.

      I've never seen anything like it. I'd agree it looks like a mould/fungus, which is quite possible if your compost is wood-based

      I've had a rash of small mushrooms from the Aldi peat-free this year. None of my actual seeds germinated, just the mushrooms

        Thanks for the replys guys . I'm not sure on the soil as brought already potted but I'm starting to think it might have something to do with the tomato feed I'm using as it came from the pound shop ?

          you shouldn't be feeding unless you've got fruits forming

            Looks like a mold of some type. What kind of rich compost is it increasing in? Is the rich compost very wet? I think I'd clean it off the areas and bin.
