Don't know what it's called but I had it on my old plot. It has really prickly leaves and a long tap root. Make sure you get the whole root out when you dig it out or it will regrow. Having said that I did used to compost it and never had any problems with it persisting in the compost. Wear gloves!

its in a bit of a wild patch with nettles that i let grow in the garden so am not gonna dig up, but am not going to let it seed.
just wish i knew what it was called.
