Bog type weed

Hi everyone.
Have got a very boggy plot and have a weed I can't get rid of. It is circular with a waxy outer and the inside is of a foam like substance. When I dig it up it seems it have white nodules which other shoots seem to come from.
So wondering what it is and how to either get rid of it or keep it under control. the gut before me did put a drainage system in.

I would never have thought of that from the description - sounded like a cross between duckweed and a water lily

I wonder if you mean soft rush (juncus)? The stems are cylindrical and have a pithy centre, which as kids we used to strip out and chew.

You need to dig it out Noviceveggrower, and improve the drainage on your plot. One of the few circumstances where I would recommend raised beds.

Thanks. Am planning to put raised beds in early next year. Have been told the guy put in a load of drainage but I have a bottom plot on the bottom of a slope. So end up with all the rain water and any excess from other plots.

There may be other ways but I agree with Rustylady.
I saw this plant on a plot my father used to look after for an old family friend. His method was to dig it out. Although it was many years ago I remember it well, 'cause he used to make me do it.

It's a bit like flavourless chewing gum. When you're out on a hike it keeps your mouth moist when you're hot and thirsty. (I grew up in the days before everyone clutched a bottle of water just to go down to the shops)
