Beetle

Does anybody know what this beetle is? Found it on a broccoli plant but have left it there for the time being just in case he's a welcome visitor?!

(Sorry about the flurry of posts. I've taken a day off work and it's the first time I've been in the garden for a week or so)

deffo its a kind of weevil had some thing lke it on my plants

Have a look at this....doesn't look like any of those to me...but of course there may be others not on there.....

Looking at your antennae I'd say it's not a weevil.

Not a weevil, most have a distinctive proboscis and long antennae. It looks like a chafer of some sort especially due to the triangle between the wing cases just behind the thorax. Possibly Aphodius fimetarius?
