Something's Wrong With My Grape Vine

I have an 8 year old grape vine that had always been healthy and had never been pruned. This year, for the first time, I pruned it, and removed half of the old branches before the leaves came out from dormancy.

But I've noticed that there's something wrong with it. The canes that are emerging from the trunk look unhealthy with its leaves looking dried and tiny black dots on the stems. Some of them just died this week. The ones that are growing on last year's canes (grown on old branches) look mostly fine, but I would say 30% of the leaves (and stems) look like what you see on the pictures (not sure if it's spreading). It's really the new canes grown from the trunk that are suffering from this. Any idea what it is?

Forgot about the variety. I actually don't know because it was friend of my family who gave it to us. But I can tell you it produces seedless green grapes.

I know nothing about Vines, but have you done the obvious check underneath for tiny insects?
They can transmit viruses and also cause the leaves to curl up.

Have you had warm and humid weather recently which would encourage fungal diseases?

Just a couple of things to think about perhaps ?

Yes, I couldn't find any insects. No doubt some insects eat or chew on the leaves, but this is not a serious issue. For viruses, I read that the leaves turn red later on during the season. That hasn't happened. I've never had this problem before.

We had one of the coldest Winter, if not the coldest in a decade. Spring was pretty wet and colder than usual. But I haven't heard grape vines in my area getting sick due to the weather we had, so I don't know.

I've googled many times, and I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly what it is. I've been told that it could be due to winter injury. From what I've researched, it could be a virus, but I really hope it's not! Or maybe a fungal disease like Black Spot?

The leaves look they've suffered from wind burn to me.
I have a few chilli plants with similar characteristics, but not the black spots.
The spots themselves could be a fungal disease but I can't quite tell.

It may be worth consulting a dedicated grape vine forum for more advice on this one.
