Snails' homing instinct can be overcome, if you move them 20m away | Environment | The Guardian
This is not something I tell everyone, but I picked up the snail I found on the doorstep early Tuesday morning as I went to work, sat it on my library book (plastic cover, see) and drove it 2 miles out of the village before letting it out on the verge. I've been removing a snail off my doorstep about every other day for a week or two but I only drove it a few hundred yards away and 2 days later there was a snail on the doorstep again. So now I've started with the full 2 miles, 'cos I'm not entirely sure it was a different snail each time. I suspect it just took 2 days to walk home.
We'll see how long it takes to do the full 2 milesLocation - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

You have an obsessed slug and apart from giving into his lustful ways the only solution is aversion therapy, show him a picture of you and then give him a mild electric shock, show him a picture of the next door neighbour and give him a lettuce leaf. It could take some time.

He's back!!
So I've marked his card (and his shell) and once more transported him up the road. If he comes back again he'll feel the full weight of my size sevens.
