]We have had rain for couple of days, today I went to allotment and my onions have all gone black, and kind of fallen over, us this the end? They weren't really big enough to pull up,yet, planted Feb time.

If they've flopped right over, then yes that's it I'm afraid. Some of mine are titchy this year and a lot have bolted. Are they from sets or seed? Was the soil well pepped? Maybe they're a bit close together. -
Sets, and the bed was new this year, filled with new compost, and they'd been fed. Just kind of happened overnight.DottyRComment

I would have thought sets started in Feb should be a decent size. If you don't weed them, that can allegedly stop them from swelling. Some of them do look a bit close together, but when growing from seed I plant them in clusters and I find they push each other apart. You get a few bigguns and a few small ones, so they shouldn't all be small. You need an onion expert on the case.Comment
