Blackspot on roses

My sister is growing roses (cant see the point really you cant eat em) and was wondering if anyone on here new an organic way to get rid of blackspot? (I have been singing the praises of the site as being able to solve any problem you throw at it - so I have to get some answers).

Oh, you CAN eat them! Petals to make jam, wine (ok that's drinking!), in salads. In fact, it you've got time on your hands and no sense of proportion you can make candied rose petals.
However, if you've got a life, you might just eat veg and want rid of your black spot. I used to remove the affected leaves and burn (not compost). If they fall on the soil the infection spreads. My current roses - mainly David Austin English roses, don't seem to suffer from it. Zephirine Drouhin got it worst but it was still worth growing that rose.
