      12 Bore?
But seriously find out where they "enter"and place small caps filled with amonia I have been told that should do the trick!

Water pistols are legal, so are loud noises, etc. Trouble is you have to be there when they invade. My trouble is I work full time, and the little b*****s seem to know it. When I open the back door first thing in the morning I usually hear cats scrambling up the fence to get out. They don't come in when I'm at home, but judging by the amount of cat poo in the borders they know exactly when I'm home and when I'm not.

Bubblewrap, I know a 12 bore is really tempting, but are you sure it's legal? Plus you also have to be there when the little b*****s come in.

Prickly prunings on the beds are supposed to put them off. Who needs a thorn in the bum?

A lady I used to live next door to used to fill old squash/pop bottles with water and lay them around her garden. Must have worked cos my cat had to crap in his own garden! Something about the bottles they don't like.

Lots of bamboo canes all over the bare soil worked for me, mostly. Just be carful not to leave any spaces they can sneak into.

You could use some chicken wire, you have to make some frame first and then set them up like a huge box shape ( 3 D ) to cover your growing area or you could tried to for the chicken wire in some kind of tunnel ( this way is much faster and less work.

I heard that cats don't like acidic smells ( like apple cider or vinegar ) or some spice stuff like pepper powder.
                    Hope it help...

                      Get a cat?

                      Or a dog?

Cats tend to poo in other gardens but dogs can be trained where to poo!

I've recently moved house and at the moment where I used to live my friend has temporarily adopted my cat . I had your problem here at the new house with neighbours cats pooing in the front garden. I brought some of my cats litter back down with me one day (wood based litter and only the urinated on version not the poop!) and scattered it on the soil..... no more neighbouring cats and its been a month or so now!

I am however intrigued by the Plectranthus caninus (coleus canina) plant or to lesser mortals such as myself it is called The Scaredy Cat plant. Apparently cats loathe it with much loathesomeness.. When I find who stocks it I shall be trying it out in case the pesky critters come back.

Failing that get a cat of your own... no cat will poop in your cats garden and the best part is your cat will poop in someone elses too!! They do have law on their side in that they are free to do it where they must!
Erm.... I cant think of a signature

My dad used to breed small birds in large averies, and I grew up with cats as public enemy number 1. They still are, in my book.

Absolutely do not see the point in cats. Neither do I see why I should have to spend a fortune on gadgets or potions to keep other people's out of my garden!

So, on nice days, when you sit in the garden, arm yourself with a large supersoaker waterpistol and load it with water and washing up liquid.

Any cat that gets in range should be liberally soaked. They don't like the water, and they hate the taste of the washing up liquid when licking it off their fur!!

                          Believe me, it works!

Other things known to work for varying lengths of time (no admittance of use of any of these should be implied):-

Hobnail boots up the rear end

Alarm mines (legal devices that fire 12-bore blanks by tripwire - may upset the neighbours)

Journeys out of town when they jump in a car boot just as that person is about to leave for work (worked for 3 weeks - took that long for it to find it's way home!)

Stretch fine fishing line about 2-3 inches above the top of a fence/wall etc.
The cat had to land on the fence before it could rebalance and jump again. The line just made it keep losing balance as it tried to land and it fell off!

Beg/breed/borrow some small children and let them run riot in your garden.
                          Veni, Vidi, Velcro.
                          I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Please do remember that cats are not reasoning beings nor are they guilty of deliberately trying to p*** you off, unlike their owners.
I have nine dogs so dont suffer with cat problems (much as I like them) but I truly think they should be under the same restraints as dogs in law i.e.not allowed to roam indiscriminately. They to can and do cause road traffic accidents, spread disease by defecating where they will and keep honest folk awake at night with their fighting and noisy mating.
Try explaining that to their owners though and all you hear is "your cockerell woke me at seven this morning" SEVEN! I ask you thats half the morning gone!!
I am afraid netting is the only(kind) answer.Pond netting is cheap, keeps the pigeons off and lets the insects through.
Please be kind to cats, they are a nuisance but an innocent one,
                            P0lly.

I did read somewhere that used teabags with a few drops of olbas oil will deter the cats. Makes your garden stink and you need to refresh after rain. I have used this method and did find it worked.
