  • grubs in my courgette plants!!

    Help! can anyone help me??? i have four lovely courgette plants which are growing some delicious courgettes, today i found three grubs that were going inside the stem and turning the stem into a foamy soggy thing with bubbly stuff, does anyone know what they could be??? they are about as big as woodlice, look a bit like a very large flea!!! i was so freaked out that i killed them straight away now i wish i had taken a photo of them............please someone help

    Hard to say without photo but could it be froghoppers and the bubbly stuff be the cuckoo spit they produce ?

      Thought cuckoo spit was from horseflies and that it was just on the outside of the plant?

        Sounds like cuckoo spit, the flea type thing lives in the middle of it. Squashing them works but they dont do a huge amount of damage.
