  • is 2x2mm netting small enough

Im looking to protect against fruit wasp and birds on cherries thinking to use woven netting 2 x 2mm mesh, I never measured a fruit wasp so can anyone help

Sounds good to me Kier. Debris nettings holes are 10 holes per inch on the weft & 12 holes per inch on the warp. Just to explain to those not in the know - Warp Is the weave going the length of the fabric & weft is the weave going across the width.

I used 2cm netting once on my cherry tree specifically against birds once the fruit had set.
The new growth forced it's way through the netting which had to be cut off and wasted .
The jays climbed up the trunk and squeezed underneath the netting.
So all in all not at all successful!

I'd have thought a finer netting would work much better...just make sure you wrap it tightly around the trunk!

This seems like a novel idea.
