A question from a friend down here who planted a new laurel hedge in the autumn and has noticed that the leaves (new and old) are being eaten. I've not seen it, but she says it looks like caterpillar damage. There is no obvious sign of the critters (day or night)! I have no idea - i thought nothing ate them. Any thoughts you clever lot?

I think Nicos is right on it being a fungal problem PP if for no other reason than laurel contains cyanide I have about 600 feet of broad leaf laurel hedge & the only time it sees any life like activity is when the birds nest in it.He who smiles in the face of adversity,has already decided who to blame
