I'm planning on growing my own veg. Are there any plants out there that will deter cats from coming into my garden.

Hi busman...welcome to the Vine!
Yours is a question asked hundreds of times on here.
What I suggest you do is to type cats into the search box at the top right of the page and you'll find loads of threads discussing various humane options."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

it's even worse when it's your own bloody cats doing their business in your garden that you have just lovining cared for and planted. I rescued you damn cats, brought you home on deaths door and this is how you repay me. little poo presents in all the raised beds, and pee in the tunnel. grrrr
Also try and have literally 100's living stray around you!I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Coleus Canina, although it's botanical name is Plectranthus Caninus, sold under the name Cats Coleus or Scaredy Cat Coleus is meant to deter cats, dogs and foxes.
Mind you there has been little if no scientific evidence backing-up the claims though.
Failing that I've found white pepper does the job of detering cats (can be bought for as little as £12 a kilo online, in supermarkets you're looking at £2 for 100g).
