To misquote Bill Veeck...
The true harbinger of spring is not crocuses or swallows returning, but the sound of me swearing at bindweed as is raises it's ugly head.
The great bindweed dig of 2015 has commenced. My current tactic is to dig it up as much as possible in spring, going about 18 inches down to get as much root as possible. Then as the veg goes in i put half pop bottles over it and spray glyophosphate into them. I'm only 12 months into this new garden so am yet to see if i get an improvement over the nightmare i had last year.
Building raised beds in march when i'd only just moved in. I wonder how many years i will live to regret it?
