Digging over my allotment and have been uncovering lots of these nodules. They are usually in clumps but also large single ones, anyone know what they are please. I was thinking perhaps the rhizome of some previous plantings by the previous owner, I have been told by other lottie holders here that he did have a rockery on the plot previously !!
